The last few months have been all about Asia in Paris. For some reason eastern culture and traditions are invading the city at the moment. There are tons of beautiful exhibitions and theatre productions playing right now. Anyways, because all Parisians seem to be so curious about what goes on in the east, the top floor of "Le Bon Marché" has transformed into a haven of everything and anything that has to do with Japanese lifestyle. I came across this place a little by accident, not everyone seems to know about it...

Since I needed inspiration for a project about the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, it was really the perfect place to land in. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. From Hello-kitty teapots, to high fashion designs, you’re sure to come out with a clear image of what the typical Japanese style is all about. It's really quite fascinating so go check it out before this Asian craze is over!

In all honesty, when I heard about the « Modern Arts Museum » of Paris, I wasn’t all that enthusiastic about it…Yet having recently visited it, I can say that it has changed my mind about a few things… just a little.

The artworks from the 80’s or 90’s are actually kind of cool. You feel the old school vibes – in a good way of course. Yet the most impressive collections are that of the very recent artworks. All kinds of a-typical pieces, ranging from sketches to sculptures, reveal an angle of art that I had not yet discovered. I guess it’s something deeper than just random stripes on a canvas…

If just like me, you’re an early bird who enjoys the feeling of fresh air at dawn, this charming place is the perfect spin on your daily morning routine.

Ideal for leisurely walks, you can just sit down and enjoy the greenery whilst listening to the little waterfalls drizzle in the background. You can even give a helping hand in the vegetable patch or use the football courts for free.

Your likely to come across peaceful yogi’s, joggers and wanderers but beware… afterschool hours – a endless wave of little minions overwhelm the square. Left, right, and around every corner, young children and their nannies make their way to the playground.

Nonetheless, the « Square René-Le Gall » is still a beautiful place to visit and finding it is a walk in the park…

This sacred little place is a perfect niche for all the bookworms out there. With its beautiful hardwood shelves (dating back to the 1930s), glass alcove and vintage leather seats, the ambiance is ideal for getting lost between pages.

Every cultivated and curious Parisian makes his way here to find the finest novels.
They are very famous for their amazing art books (seriously amazing) and especially the English language reads - ranging from classics, to politics… and to more modern debates… like assholes.

In other words, your range of choice is very large. So if  the daily monotony of life seems too boring right now, pass by 224, rue de Rivoli 75001 Paris, pick up a book and let the words on the pages carry you away…
