Before I start, I should probably just
reassure my mom who might be reading this – no mom, don’t worry, I’m not planning
to get a tattoo…
Personally, marking my own body with a
permanent design seems like a far too massive commitment. However, that doesn’t
mean I don’t find it fascinating and intriguing when others choose to do so.
Briefly telling someone the story of your
life is one thing… but inking it permanently onto your body for all to see - that’s a whole other level of exposure. That’s
why I was curious to see the tattoo expo at the Quai Branly Museum.
It’s pretty short but worth seeing! You learn
about the history and evolution of tattoos as well as their symbolisms. Even
cooler is the way they present different traditions carried out around the
world. Who would have guessed that my ancestors probably all sported tattoos?!
Anyways, you don’t need to be a tattoo
specialist to appreciate the beauty of its art… it’s just a very special
exhibition and worth visiting.
