So today I woke up in Paris. Crazy right? A new life is beginning and my brain just won’t register the change. Anyway, after running a few errands this morning, I accidentally came across an amazing place. For all you jewellery-loving people… this is the place to be. It’s heaven on earth.

You walk in and you’re suddenly submerged, from head to toe and from every angle, by a sea of sparkling and dazzling things. Not only that, but the room temperature abruptly drops, the lights are dimmed and you’re almost always the only one in the room. The whole vibe of the expo is rather eerie – almost out of this world.

There are more than 1,000 pieces exhibited - the idea being to show the most intriguing collections of all time. The evolution from middle ages to now is quite fascinating. It goes from gold and diamonds to… well ... teddy-bear necklaces and bizarre hair bracelets, which apparently where very popular in the 19th century.

Instead of going to the famous “Musée du Louvre”, rather make your way to “Les Art Décoratifs”. The two museums are very close to one another and maybe that’s the reason why many visitors overlook it. In any case, you won’t loose anything visiting it… literally; it’s free for anyone under 26 years young.
